Scanned Synthesis 2 Reason Refill launched! Now over 76,446 downloads!

May 1st 2013:

I am delighted to say that there is a brand new FREE Reason Refill featuring the sounds of Scanned Synth Pro now available for download from here. It is called “Scanned Synthesis Reason Reboot” and contains 30 of Humanoid Sound Systems Lead Designer John Proctor’s favourite patches from the innovative VST synthesiser.

[Editor’s Note: In just under a year since this was released this refill proved to be popular – with well over 76,446 downloads!]

The “Scanned Synthesis Reason Reboot” Reason Refill was compiled with the kind permission of John Proctor and features a collection of 30 patches sampled using Extreme Sample Converter and mapped to Reason’s NN-XT Sampler. Combinator patches and demo songs by Neil Paddock and James Paddock are also included. James Paddock also helped out with the Combinator artwork.

Here is a video especially created for users of the Scanned Synthesis Reason Reboot Reason Refill:

What is Scanned Synthesis?

Scanned Synth Pro uses a synthesis technique called Scanned Synthesis to generate new sounds that are “totally out of this world”.

SCANNED SYNTH PRO CREDITS:

I did not create Scanned Synth Pro, nor did I design any of the original sounds.
I have simply sampled the sounds so they can be used in Reason’s NN-XT sampler and other sample players.
I also set up the combinator patches and created the demo songs.

All credit goes to the original Scanned Synth project team for the synth, the artwork and the original sound design.

“SCANNED SYNTHESIS 2” – REASON REFILL CREDITS:

This refill for Propellerhead Software’s Reason was created with the permission of John Proctor of Humanoid Sound Systems.

James Paddock helped out with the Combinator artwork, adapting it from the original source, and also provided a midi track, “Red Planet Theme”, to use in the refill pack as one of the two Demo Tracks showcasing the Scanned Synth presets.

I provided the other demo track, “Walton Racket”, revamped for use with 10 instances of Scanned Synth.

All the synthesiser sounds you hear in the above demos (with the exception of the drum sounds) are the re-sampled sounds of Scanned Synth Pro. The drums feature some Yamaha RX-17 and Dtxplorer drum samples and kit sounds from my studio.

Scanned Synth Pro VST

The source of the sounds from Scanned Synthesis 2 and Anamorphic Cinema – Reboot is Scanned Synth Pro.

“It is designed to create rich complex digital tones and fantastic sound effects, while using simplifed controls and traditional synths techniques such as filters, lfo’s and effects. Perfect for biting metallic growls, movement filled pads, and weird modular-like sound effects.”

The Scanned Synth Pro VST plug-in is available from Humanoid Sound Systems for $25 USD.
